The Orleans Fire Department currently bills for EMS transports.
The department bills insurance providers for services and equipment that is used during an emergency medical incident. The monies collected are allocated for the purchase of medical supplies, (most which can only be used a single time) medical equipment including our ambulances when they are in need of replacement.
The monies are transferred through warrant articles during the regular and special town meetings that are held in May and September.
