Open Burning / Bonfires

When does open burning begin / end?

Open burning usually begins January 15th and ends May 1st. All allowable burning days are subject to change daily. Open burning permits are obtained at the Fire Station and cost $5.

Open fires (Bonfires) on any town beach is strictly prohibited all year long. Grills and fires in a metal container for cooking purposes are allowed on the outer beach. Clambakes require a permit issued by the Parks Dept and are subject to Parks and Beaches regulations.
