The Orleans Fire Department currently bills for EMS transports only.

The Orleans Fire Department contracts with Coastal Medical Billing Services (CMBS) of Sutton MA. CMBS bills insurance providers for services and equipment that are used during an emergency medical incident.

The monies collected are allocated for the purchase of medical supplies, (most which can only be used a single time) medical equipment repair, and replacement including the purchase of our ambulances when they are in need of replacement ( average 7-8yr replacement plan).

The monies are transferred through warrant articles during the regular and special town meetings that are held each May and September.
