The Orleans Fire Department provides Advanced life Support (ALS) level ambulance service to our community 24 hrs a day 7 days a week 365 days a year.

The Fire Department maintains three ambulances that are certified and licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH). Our ambulance service operates under the Cape and Islands Emergency Medical Services System in conjunction with Cape Cod Hospital. These ambulances are equipped with the Lifepak 15 cardiac monitor / defibrillators, advanced airway management equipment, life saving medications and a large array of first aid and patient care equipment.

Our Paramedics and EMT-A's are trained to meet the certification requirements set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health & The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. In addition, our staff receives additional training in areas such as motor vehicle extrication, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Dive Search and Recovery, Trench rescues, Ice rescue, and environmental emergencies.

The requests for service we receive are broad and unpredictable, therefore the greater the training our staff receives the better we can assist you during any type of emergency.

The Orleans Fire Department Emergency Medical Services are overseen by EMS coordinator and Firefighter/Paramedic Leslie Vasconcellos. Leslie is responsible for maintaining the stock of medical supplies, scheduling the equipment maintenance, EMS training for our entire staff, researching new and improved technologies in the medical field, and maintaining the vast amount of paperwork that comes with providing a cutting edge EMS service.
